Cleaning/Waste Operative

Job Summary
Conduct janitorial and waste removal services internally and externally in welfare, social, and production areas of a warehouse environment. Operate walk-behind and ride-on sweepers and scrubber-dryers while maintaining equipment safety and responding to spillages and client callouts. Wear protective clothing and comply with health and safety legislation throughout the shift. This role requires full training on cleaning methods and equipment, a willingness to undergo a basic DBS check and random drug and alcohol testing, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Candidates must be physically fit, adaptable to a busy operational setting, and possess strong communication skills in English. ABM provides 24/7 GP access, mental health support, and a cycle-to-work scheme for team members.
Required Qualifications
- Satisfactory response from Disclosure Board at a basic level
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements
- Willingness to learn health and safety requirements
- Willingness to learn cleaning methods
- High attention to detail
- An ability to work under pressure
- An ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- An ability to quickly adapt to a very busy operational environment
- A reliable and flexible approach to work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- This is an active role that requires you to be physically fit
- Willingness to participate in the company's screening process
- Completing a basic DBS check
