Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day cleaning operations at Terminal 1, Toronto Pearson International Airport, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and safety for passengers and staff. Direct frontline staff assignments, allocate duties within 20 minutes, and manage equipment accountability at shift end. Prioritize client requests from IOCC/SSO, report deficiencies, and conduct audits of cleaning procedures to implement necessary changes. Deliver specialized training to personnel, monitor safety protocols, and investigate incidents or injuries to determine root causes and implement corrective actions. Liaise with tenants and building services, maintain records of supplies and activities, and enforce attendance monitoring and performance reviews. Complete all necessary supervisory training and adhere to strict health and safety regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years' cleaning and supervisory experience in a large facility
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and execute tasks with minimal supervision
- Experience working in a unionized environment
- Ability to work with Collective Agreement and provide guidelines and execution
- Flexible start and end times as needed
- Weekend and statutory holiday work are required
- A clear criminal background check is required for this role
- Previous experience in a cleaning environment
- Customer and client focused
- The ability to implement and adhere to standards and procedures
- Health and Safety experience including understanding the Supervisors responsibilities under OHSA
- Basic office skills including but not limited to email, word, excel
- Ability to use IOS Technology base platforms
- Good interpersonal skills
- Smart appearance and professional manner
- Resilience, with the ability to work under pressure
