Job Summary
Conduct all facility cleaning duties including dusting, sweeping, washing floors, vacuuming, and sanitizing cardio, strength, and pool areas. Maintain equipment in good repair and perform laundry tasks such as collecting and laundering rags and mop heads. Clean washrooms, replenish toiletries, and remove garbage while strictly following Workplace Health and Safety practices. Provide high-standard customer service to all participants and perform other assigned duties as required.
Required Qualifications
- Cleaning experience in a commercial establishment
- Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills
- Ability to establish rapport
- Excellent communication with members, staff and volunteers
- Excellent written communication skills
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
- Flexibility regarding assigned work schedule, including days, evenings and weekends
- WHIMIS training
- Personal understanding of and appreciation for the mission, vision, strategic outcomes and values of the YMCA
- Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and building a sense of belonging
- Legal entitlement to work in Canada
- Successful completion of a Police Records Check
- Vulnerable Police Records Check (within first four months and every three years thereafter)
