Job Summary
Sweep, mop, dust, vacuum, and disinfect classrooms, locker rooms, and kitchens while replenishing lavatory supplies and changing light bulbs. Empty waste receptacles, pick up litter, and launder physical education and kitchen items. Operate cleaning equipment with sufficient physical strength to lift heavy items and maintain good vision to meet established standards. Work part-time (20 hours) from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM, Monday through Friday, at a district-wide location. Requires high school diploma or GED, ambulatory status, and the ability to evaluate problems and work within a team environment.
Required Qualifications
- General knowledge of cleaning procedures
- High School diploma or GED
- Ambulatory; ability to walk and carry heavy items and to be able to operate all cleaning equipment
- Good vision; ability to see well enough to clean standards set by supervisor or district
- Physical strength; enough strength to lift, move, and carry heavy items throughout the day
- Intelligence; must be able to evaluate a problem, devise and implement a solution
- Social skills; must be able to work in a team environment
