Job Summary
The Cleaner will be responsible for a designated job site contracted to BGIS for service, executing cleaning duties per the client contract while adhering to health and safety practices. Responsibilities include dusting office furniture, emptying and cleaning waste baskets, spot cleaning walls and surfaces, disinfecting washrooms, dust mops and vacuuming floors, polishing metal and wood surfaces, and other duties such as notifying management of deficiencies. Requires at least 1 year of industrial/commercial cleaning experience, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and knowledge of WHMIS; security clearance may be required. This is a regular, full-time position located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
Required Qualifications
- 1-year minimum experience in industrial/commercial facility cleaning operations
- Self-starter, willing to learn, able to work independently
- Team player
- Good verbal communication and writing skills
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
- Positive attitude toward Environment, Health and Safety
- Knowledge of WHMIS
- Must meet security clearance requirements, where applicable
