Job Summary
Conduct daily occupied and discharge/transfer cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas, equipment, and common areas. Perform duties demonstrating knowledge of health care cleaning principles, safe chemical use, and proper equipment handling. Adhere to organization safety, risk management, and infection control guidelines while maintaining cleaning carts and managing waste streams including regulated medical and hazardous materials. Follow infection prevention practices, including proper PPE donning and doffing, and recognize patient privacy requirements. Operate and maintain all tools and equipment needed for cleaning and disinfecting the environment. May perform specialty tasks such as conference room setup, stairwell and elevator cleaning, and hanging cubicle curtains.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read/write English
- Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for employment
- Demonstrates the ability to operate and properly maintain all tools and equipment needed to clean and disinfect the environment
- Can demonstrate effective use of computers and/or mobile devices for daily job performance activities
Desired Qualifications
- Health care support services and/or environmental services, hospitality or related field preferred
