Job Summary
Cleaner with Bruce Power security clearance needed for BGIS Sustainable Cleaning Solutions. Responsibilities include cleaning floors by sweeping, scrubbing, or vacuuming; dry/wet mopping and polishing hard surface floors; stripping and finishing floors; steam cleaning or shampooing carpets; transporting garbage and maintaining equipment; cleaning glass areas with ladders or extension equipment; cleaning washrooms, stairwells, and elevator cabs; stocking cleaning supplies; following chemical cleaning procedures; and reporting major repairs or building-system needs. Must have experience in institutional cleaning, floor maintenance machines, knowledge of OHSA/WHMIS, ability to lift and move heavy items, strong interpersonal skills, willingness to work weekends/holidays/shifts, and security clearance (Bruce Power) and Class G license if required. Part-time position with salary range $17.60-$20.88 per hour; inclusive company commitment to equal opportunity and accommodation upon request.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in performing various cleaning, housekeeping and maintenance activities in an institutionalized environment.
- Experience in using floor maintenance machines, cleaning equipment, materials, and solutions.
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the provisions that apply to this work including WHMIS.
- Ability to lift, push and pull heavy items as well as climb ladders.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, clients, and the general public.
- Ability and willingness to work weekends, holidays, and shifts as assigned as well as work in multiple locations.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, prepare and maintain manual and electronic records.
- Must meet security clearance requirements, where applicable.
- Must have a valid Class G license (may be required).
- Must have valid Bruce Power Security Clearance.
