Job Summary
Aircraft Cleaner at American Airlines responsible for cleaning aircraft interiors and exteriors, performing Foreign Object Debris (FOD) walks, and cleaning equipment and aircraft components using appropriate methods (blasting, scrubbing, buffing). Requires adherence to safety regulations (DOT, FAA, TSA), ability to work outdoors in varied weather, and willingness to work rotating shifts including weekends/holidays. Duties include coordinating with Crew Chief, maintaining forms and reports, and handling cleaning supplies and specialized solutions. Must have a High School diploma or GED, valid driver's license, and qualifications related to warehouse/parts/shipping processes and basic computer skills.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Two years (equivalent) of college or a certificate from a trade/technical school or 12+ months of experience in a warehouse or similar material receiving/shipping/binning
- Successful completion of required qualifying tests including hazardous material handling
- Ability to distinguish colors
- Basic arithmetic and computer skills
- Willingness to work outdoors in any weather and to work extra hours as needed
- Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends/holidays
- DOT drug and alcohol testing with background checks (FAA/SIDA)
- Ability to obtain airport security badges
- Read and write legibly to complete forms and identify part numbers
- Compliance with safety procedures and company policies
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform tasks for extended periods
