Job Summary
Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum; plan and use instructional strategies and activities reflecting diverse student needs; assess student learning styles and adjust instruction; collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula per IEPs; manage classroom and take part in extracurricular activities; communicate professionally with parents and maintain records and reports.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- [Physical Education Teachers: Current automated external defibrillator (AED) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate]
- Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
- Plan and implement lesson plans reflecting accommodations for differences in individual student differences
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Experience with collaboration with special education staff to modify curricula per IEPs
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures
