Job Summary
The Classroom Teacher II will schedule and complete home visits and developmental screenings, manage classroom documentation, and implement educational plans for children. Responsibilities include planning indoor and outdoor learning activities, maintaining communication with families, and ensuring compliance with health and safety policies. The position requires an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood or a related field, with additional qualifications including strong communication skills and basic computer proficiency. The teacher will document child progress, support the implementation of Individual Education Plans, and assist with various classroom activities and training.
Required Qualifications
- Be 21 years of age or older
- Must have an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood or related field with at least 18 college credit hours in Early Childhood Education, or a state-issued Teaching License
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Must have basic computer skills
- Have reliable transportation; hold a valid driver's license with adequate car insurance
- Work flexible and/or irregular hours with some travel
- Complete SIDS & Shaken Baby Training
- Fire Extinguisher Training
- Proof of certification in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid within 30 days if required
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred teaching experience with children ages 0-5
- Preferred Bilingual in Spanish and English (oral and written)
Additional Requirements
- Criminal background check prior to employment
- Physical exam and TB screening test showing absence of Tuberculosis within 30 days of employment or sooner if required
- Register in the State Childcare registry
