Classroom Substitute (Qualified Teacher)

Classroom Substitute (Qualified Teacher) position supporting Head Start classrooms on an as-needed basis. Responsibilities include delivering age-appropriate learning experiences, actively supervising children, following lesson plans and classroom routines, assisting with meals and daily care, maintaining a clean and safe classroom, collaborating with teaching teams, and supporting children with special needs via IFSPs/IEPs when applicable. Requires strong teamwork and communication, the ability to lift up to 30 lbs, background checks and Head Start requirements; Preferred: Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field; 3+ years center-based early childhood experience preferred. Flexible, mission-driven role across multiple Head Start sites in York County, ME.
