Job Summary
Provide instructional assistance to students under the direct supervision of a certified teacher; assist in preparing, conducting, and managing classroom activities; help prepare instructional materials and classroom displays; assist with administration and scoring of objective tests; supervise students across lunchroom, bus, and playground; maintain neat and orderly classrooms, manage equipment, and assist in maintaining administrative records and reports; support substitute teachers and participate in staff development; focus on reading, writing, and mathematics instruction and maintain safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Texas educational aide certificate
- Experience working with children
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to work well with children
- Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
