Job Summary
Conduct home visits, conferences, and developmental screenings alongside the classroom teacher, tracking observations and documentation within specified timeframes. Facilitate children's daily activities, field trips, and equipment setup based on Creative Curriculum Standards and state mandates. Maintain indoor and outdoor environments through setup, maintenance, and cleaning while assisting with I.E.P. and I.F.S.P. implementation. Communicate with families regarding developmental progress and coordinate with bus drivers on loading, unloading, and daily behavior updates. Participate in Family Style Meal Service, ensuring children develop social and self-help skills while adhering to nutritional documentation requirements. Perform active supervision of all children, manage behavioral guidance, and execute health and safety protocols including sanitization, injury reporting, and hazardous material storage.
Required Qualifications
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Have a valid High school diploma or GED certificate
- Possess a Preschool (PS) Child Development Associate credential or state-awarded certificate that meets/exceeds the requirements for a CDA credential or be enrolled in a CDA program immediately upon acceptance of position. Must complete within 1 year
- Must have basic computer skills to include, but not limited to, data entry and internet
- Have reliable transportation; hold a valid driver's license and adequate car insurance
- Work flexible, irregular hours with some travel
- Employment with UMOS is contingent upon successful completion of: Criminal background check prior to employment
- Employment with UMOS is contingent upon successful completion of: Physical exam and TB screening test showing absence of Tuberculosis within 30 days of employment or sooner if required by local/state regulation
- Employment with UMOS is contingent upon successful completion of: Complete SIDS & Shaken Baby Training prior to working with children
- Employment with UMOS is contingent upon successful completion of: Fire Extinguisher Training
- Employment with UMOS is contingent upon successful completion of: Proof of certification in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid within 30 days or sooner if required by local/state regulation
- Employment with UMOS is contingent upon successful completion of: Register in the state childcare registry
Desired Qualifications
- Some childcare experience is preferred
- Preferred Bilingual in Spanish and English (oral and written)
