Job Summary
Provide support to the Lead Classroom Teacher and work with a Lead Teacher to ensure an authentic Montessori learning experience across Primary through Elementary levels. Responsibilities include managing the classroom to protect lesson flow, encouraging independence and appropriate behavior, working with individual children or small groups, preparing the Montessori environment to meet students’ needs, taking attendance, providing instruction or co-teaching under supervision, maintaining classroom materials, data collection and assessment administration (EC, LE, UE), daily attendance entry in PowerSchool, and communicating student development to staff. Requires collaboration with teaching staff, supervision during non-academic times, and participation in training related to data collection/assessment. Qualifications include an Associate’s degree (minimum) or Bachelor’s degree (preferred), CPR/First Aid, Montessori-related training, and bilingual capabilities a plus; 10-month employment with comprehensive benefits. Preference for experience in Montessori settings and certification pathways, plus strong commitment to inclusive education.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree required or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- At least 3 years of prior working experience, preferably in a Montessori school and/or a diverse public/private/independent/charter elementary school
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate
- CDA certificate preferred but not required
- Bilingualism in Spanish, French, or Amharic a plus
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
- Must attend Montessori classroom assistant training and RBT training during the year
