Job Summary
Support-focused Classroom Assistant role for Reverend George A. Brown Memorial School (PreK–Grade 4) during the 2026-2027 year. Assist the classroom teacher with general care of students, provide individual and small-group instruction under supervision, supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, field trips, and in collaboration with art, music, library, gym, Spanish, and makerspace teachers. Perform clerical duties, cover other classes as needed, and assist with supervision and movement throughout the school. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, experience with children, effective communication, and completion of criminal background check and Virtus training; knowledge of the Catholic faith and mission of the school preferred. Hourly wage range: $17.00–$18.00/hour; maximum 29.5 hours per week; no benefits.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, college level work in education or related field
- Successful experience working with children
- Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
- Successful completion of the criminal background check and completion of virtus training
- Basic understanding of the Catholic faith and the willingness to support and carry out the mission of the school
