Job Summary
Assist the Head Teacher in developing a nurturing classroom environment by planning and implementing daily activities and managing program operations. Perform routine classroom management duties under direct supervision from the Site Supervisor and Head Teacher. Maintain a clear driver's abstract and possess a valid Hawaii driver's license, with willingness to travel in a personal vehicle as needed throughout the island. Submit to a criminal background investigation with continued employment contingent on a record clear of convictions.
Required Qualifications
- High school, plus additional courses or specialized training at business or community college, or other formal training facility or program
- CDA credential, state awarded certificate that meets or exceeds the requirement for a CDA credential
- Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from an accredited college or university
- Enrolled in a program that will lead to an Associate or Baccalaureate degree
- Enrolled in a CDA credential program to be completed within two years (24 months) of the time of hire
- CPR and First Aid certificate
- Valid Hawaii driver's license
- Clear driver's abstract
- Willingness to travel in personal vehicle on an as-needed basis throughout the island
Desired Qualifications
- One year's experience in a childcare setting (home or center based)
- Computer skills
