Job Summary
Aide itinerant position providing classroom support to teachers and students, assisting with daily classroom activities and instructional duties. Responsibilities include performing duties per the classroom teacher's directions, maintaining and organizing student work files and health-related records, preparing routine notices, monitoring and assisting with student activities, supervising bus transportation and aiding in safe boarding/disembarking, ensuring safety and order, keeping records for program evaluation, communicating with parents, and adhering to in-service training requirements and district policies. The role emphasizes assisting in special education programs, maintaining a positive work environment, and upholding ethical and democratic principles in school settings.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED per West Virginia Code §18A-2-5
- Aide II/II/III/IV training or equivalent
- Criminal background check per WV Code §18-5-15c
- CPR/First Aid Training
- The ability to perform the job duties and responsibilities of the position as contained in the Job Description
