Job Summary
Conduct health procedures including lifting, positioning, feeding, and medication administration while implementing Individual Health Plans. Assist classroom teachers in executing instructional plans and Individual Education Programs across inclusive, resource, and self-contained settings. Monitor student progress, maintain instructional and medical logs, and reinforce positive behavior using designated support strategies. Provide daily instructional support covering cognitive, motor, and social skills while supervising study areas, cafeterias, and field trips. Perform routine sanitation duties and assist with assistive technology and physical therapy activities. Maintain confidentiality of student records and attend required workshops.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Pass the teacher/paraprofessional assessment test with a score of 450 or higher
- Associate degree or higher
- 48 hours of college with six hours of Math and nine hours of English
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of students and parents
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to students
- Ability to assist in lifting and positioning students
- Handle with Care training
- 170 days employment term
