Job Summary
Assist teachers with instructional, behavioral and physical needs of individual students or groups; prepare instructional materials; provide individualized and small-group instruction; follow learning strategies designed by the teacher; may assist with adaptive physical education and/or swimming activities; record student data to document performance; promote communication between students, peers and teachers; implement and assist with behavior management; supervise students inside and outside the classroom; assist with personal care tasks and possible medical procedures; travel among district facilities as needed; obtain First Aid/CPR certifications and driver licensure if required; bilingual Spanish preferred.
Required Qualifications
- May require two years of college level coursework or demonstrated proficiency in English, spelling and mathematics with a passing score on a district-approved assessment.
- Experience working with children with a variety of assets and abilities preferred.
