Job Summary
Health Paraeducator position supporting Fremont Public Schools with 3 openings district-wide (High School sites including Bell Field and Howard) requiring in-person attendance and potential travel between school locations. Under supervision of the school nurse and building administrator, assist with health/medical tasks such as suctioning, medication administration, routine health care procedures, and supervision of students; provide support during health screening programs and assist with physical/occupational therapy activities as directed. Responsibilities include clerical and organizational duties, collaboration with teachers and staff, and maintaining student confidentiality. Requires a High School Diploma or GED; current First Aid/CPR/AED preferred; CNA/CMA/LPN preferred but not required; valid driver’s license; willingness to engage in district training and competencies; strong communication and basic computer literacy; ability to perform duties in a physically active school environment; may travel between buildings. Compensation ranges from $19.52-$21.41 per hour, with bilinguals earning $21.41-$23.53 per hour, plus a benefits package including pension, health/dental/vision insurance options, and paid leave; reporting to the School Nurse, Building Administrator, and Director of Support Services.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Driver's License
- Current First Aid/CPR/AED preferred but not required
- CNA CMA or LPN preferred but not required
- Experience with children/students or health-care settings desirable
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Basic computer literacy
- Successful completion of District training and competencies
- Travel between buildings may be required (as assigned)
- Ability to perform health/medical care procedures under RN supervision
- Ability to supervise students and communicate progress to parents/staff with authorization of supervisor
- Willingness to participate in professional development
