Job Summary
Cook’s Helper in a school cafeteria, responsible for quantity food production following menus and standardized recipes with safe food handling; maintain sanitation and safety standards per local/state health department and district policy; serve students and adults with a cheerful, professional demeanor; maintain records; cross-train and support all areas of the cafeteria as needed; adhere to Child Nutrition Program guidelines and department standards; be prepared for in-service training and school-day work; perform related duties as assigned by the Cafeteria Manager and Nutrition Director.
Required Qualifications
- High school education or equivalency
- Food handlers permit required
- Maintain a yearly TB test
- Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship
- Possess ability to read, write and comprehend directions
- Good personal appearance and demeanor
- Willingness to cross train in all areas of the cafeteria
- Follow a clean-as-you-go program
- Perform other related duties as requested by the supervisor
