Classic car gearbox restoration SME

Conduct gearbox examination, testing, and disassembly with part tagging for classic car restoration projects. Repair and replace damaged components including valves, pumps, cylinders, bands, gears, and seals. Perform re-assembly, linkage testing, and drive train evaluations while ordering parts from the internal Parts Team. Execute conversions from 4 to 5 gear transmissions and reconfigure existing gearboxes by swapping assemblies, installing adapters, and aligning shafts. Inspect used gear reducers, repair them with new gears, bearings, and seals, and perform basic electric motor modifications. Complete reports on all work performed and maintain workplace cleanliness to protect against hazards.
