Job Summary
Class III Electrical Mechanic at Johnson Controls is responsible for running electrical components to air handling units. The role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to perform Class I–III tasks, interpret specification sheets and blueprints, assemble parts to specification, install windows and hardware, complete paperwork, and utilize tools such as rivet guns, air guns, and welding equipment. Solder copper pipe and install gauges and wiring units. Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and productivity in a fast-paced environment to support Johnson Controls’ mission of creating smarter, healthier environments. Shift is 2nd; environment includes exposure to fumes and moderate noise; no supervisory responsibilities. The position offers an hourly pay range and a competitive benefits package, with AI-assisted screening as part of the process.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to read and comprehend the English language
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Math ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
- Ability to interpret and apply instructions from diagrams or written form
- Ability to compute rate and percent and interpret bar graphs
- Reasoning ability to solve problems in standard situations
- Basic computer skills
- No supervisory responsibilities
- Ability to perform essential duties including use of hand tools, soldering, welding, and operating equipment as described
