Class C Professional Driver - Summer Feeding

Job Summary
Seasonal Class C driver for Houston Food Bank, delivering partner agency orders within an 18-county service area, with home daily expectation. Responsibilities include operating company vehicles per DOT regulations, performing pre-trip/post-trip inspections, loading/unloading with pallet jack or by hand, documenting trip reports, maintaining equipment, and providing exemplary customer service at donor sites and partner facilities. Requires adherence to safety, accuracy in paperwork, ability to work across multiple sites, travel within service area up to 90%, and a schedule of Monday–Friday 6:00 AM–3:00 PM for approximately 9–11 weeks. Strong knowledge of motor vehicle operations, dispatch software, and Microsoft Office, plus the ability to work independently and coordinate with multiple departments.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
- Approved 3-Year (Clean/Clear/No Violations) Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- 1 year of commercial driving experience preferred
- Knowledge of motor vehicle operations and DOT regulations
- Ability to operate liftgate and pallet jack
- Ability to load/unload and inspect products
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to travel within service area up to 90%
- Able to work flexible hours including mornings
- Legally able to work in the United States
