Job Summary
Perform daily vehicle inspections, fueling, and cargo securement in compliance with DOT and federal safety requirements. Execute assigned delivery routes, including pick-ups and drop-offs, while maintaining accurate driver logs and delivery documentation. Communicate route delays, safety concerns, or vehicle issues promptly to supervisors and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Lift and carry up to 30 lbs, stand or sit for extended periods, and navigate urban routes in varied weather conditions. Contribute to route planning adjustments based on traffic and operational needs.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class C driver's license
- Clean DMV record with no major at-fault accidents or commercial speeding violations
- Current medical card
- Minimum of two years' experience operating a Bobtail truck
- Proven experience navigating city routes in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit for extended periods (8–10 hours per shift)
- Ability to navigate and operate a Bobtail truck safely in urban environments and varied weather conditions
- Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
- Ability to follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively to route changes, delays, or unexpected challenges
- Ability to communicate clearly with dispatch, supervisors, and customers
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and high-volume demands
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong math, writing, and verbal communication skills
- Customer-focused with a commitment to quality service
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Intermediate computer proficiency: Microsoft Office Suite required
- Working knowledge of logistics, shipping, receiving, and transportation operations
- Familiarity with LEAN principles, including 5S and 7S execution
- Knowledge of inventory control practices
- Understanding of DOT regulations and compliance standards
- Adherence to all RK Safety, Quality, ISO, and HR policies and standards
Desired Qualifications
- Forklift experience and/or previous certification
- Experience with handheld RF equipment
- Comfortable using light power tools when necessary
- SAP experience
