Job Summary
Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a large fleet of buses supporting mining operations, focusing on engines, transmissions, electrical systems, brakes, and undercarriages. Diagnose minor to moderate problems using diagnostic equipment and repair manuals, then document all work in CMMS software. Execute both in-house and road call repairs while maintaining a safe, productive environment. Requires a Class B Commercial Driver's License, 3+ years heavy equipment experience, and ability to lift up to 75 pounds in outdoor conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Three (3) years recent progressive heavy equipment maintenance experience or four (4) years automotive mechanical experience
- Experience in diagnostic computer equipment
- Possession of a valid Commercial Driver's License and DOT physical
- Must have a basic understanding of the design, adjustment, overhaul operation and maintenance of transmissions, heavy-duty engines and other bus components
- Must be able to work amid constant interruptions and be able to prioritize, be detail oriented and deal with time pressures
- Must have good communication skills and be able to communicate concerns, questions and diagnostic information
- Must be autonomous and be self directed
- Must have basic math skills
- Must be able to take directions and instruction well
- Must be able to perform physical activities including lifting up to seventy-five (75) pounds
- Basic 2-way radio skills
- Basic tools
- Must have clean driving record and be able to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver's License, Class B
- Attend work on a regular and dependable basis
- Ability to successfully pass state and/or federal required Background Checks
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job
- Ability to safely lift heavy equipment (minimum of 75 lbs can be up to 100+ pounds) frequently throughout the work day
- Ability to comply with all policies and procedures established by company
- Must be eligible to work in the US without restrictions
Desired Qualifications
- ASE Certifications preferred
- Additional training from mechanical/technical schools, courses or seminars
