Job Summary
Safely operate a straight truck (GVWR 26,001 lb. or more) for up to 11 consecutive hours in all weather conditions while transporting hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Load and unload freight using a forklift and pallet jack, and provide excellent customer service including generating sales leads. Perform physical tasks such as lifting objects up to 50 lbs frequently, climbing in and out of the vehicle, and working outdoors on uneven surfaces. Work flexible schedules up to 12-14 hours daily, including day, night, and weekend shifts. This Class B Driver role is part of XPO's integrated transportation network, offering a step progression pay range of $30.91 to $34.40 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- 21 years of age or older
- Class B CDL without air brake restriction
- Safe driving record and history
- Pass a DOT drug test and have no prior positive tests or refusals
- Pass a company-paid DOT physical and pre-hire test
- Availability to work a flexible schedule that's up to 12-14 hours in a day, including day, night and weekend shifts
- Have, or the ability to obtain, a Federal Medical Certificate and self-certify as Non-Exempt Interstate
- Currently possess or be willing to obtain hazardous materials and tank endorsements within 90 days of employment
- Lift objects of various shapes, sizes and weights (up to 50 lbs. frequently and greater than 75 lbs. occasionally)
- Safely climb in/out of a straight truck/box truck
- Sit for extended periods of time in a straight truck/box truck and/or forklift; safely operate heavy equipment and a forklift
- Walk and stand for extended periods of time on various surfaces that may be uneven or slippery (including working outdoors in inclement weather)
- Reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel
- Operate a straight truck for up to 11 consecutive hours, in all types of weather, while safely transporting hazardous and non-hazardous materials
- Read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals in English, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and record
