Job Summary
Drive a Class B truck with a GVWR of at least 26,001 pounds, performing pre- and post-trip inspections and securing cargo with ropes, chains, or binders. Navigate routes using maps and GPS, maneuvering vehicles for loading and unloading while following crew signals. Greet customers, answer product inquiries, and collect delivery receipts or signatures. Load or unload trucks using appropriate equipment, maintaining proficiency in safe working policies and company procedures. Adhere to all DOT regulations, including passing drug tests and physical assessments, while reporting vehicle defects or accidents as required.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a class "B" commercial driver's license and required endorsements for the position.
- Must maintain a valid commercial driver's license and driving record that meets the organization safe driving standards.
- Must be in adequate physical condition to perform requirements such as mental, physical and manual dexterity, hand/grip strength, depth perception and any other physical attributes that enable the employee to perform the job safely according to all Company, Local, State, and Federal regulations and requirements.
- Ability to lift/carry up to 75 pounds regularly.
- Ability to push/pull up to 75 pounds regularly.
- Must wear prescribed personal protective equipment when handling material or operating equipment.
- Successfully pass a DOT drug test as requested, a DOT physical capacity assessment, a background and motor vehicle check.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of on-the-job training.
- The ability to read, write, understand, and relay, written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to operate available equipment, such as calculators, or scanners.
- Basic mathematical skills, as needed to make change and give refunds.
- Knowledgeable about company's products and services, and customer-related policies.
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of related experience preferred.
