Job Summary
Operate a variety of units including roll-offs, luggers, tankers, and vans to perform hazardous and non-hazardous waste pickups at client sites. Ensure health and safety is the top priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes. Guarantee proper loading and unloading of waste while performing pre- and post-trip inspections to maintain equipment mechanical soundness. Complete field-level risk assessments and paperwork, ensuring proper vehicle placarding to meet regulations. Work as part of a team with customers, co-workers, and supervisors. This unionized position in Corunna, ON, follows the applicable CBA and offers a competitive rate of $37.27 with opportunities for overtime.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class AZ Commercial Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Must be able to maintain a clean-shaven face to ensure proper respirator fit
- Valid passport with no travel restrictions
- Proven ability to operate manual transmission commercial vehicles
- Previous experience operating tankers and/or roll-off trucks
- Ability to safely operate vehicles equipped with up to an 18-speed manual transmission
- Capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions for extended periods
Desired Qualifications
- Valid FAST Card
- Experience with Hazardous Waste transportation
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations
