Job Summary
Operate a 53-foot tractor trailer for nightly linehaul deliveries from 8 PM to 6 AM, performing drop and hook runs across the Reno/Carson basin. Complete assigned routes in 10–12 hours while maintaining accurate ELD, vehicle inspection, and manifest records. Adhere to FMCSA, DOT, and TSA regulations, including federal drug and alcohol protocols, while practicing defensive driving and complying with OSHA safety practices. Join a local team of 15 overnight carriers serving international and domestic freight forwarders as final-mile pickup and delivery agents.
Required Qualifications
- NV driver's license
- experience chaining up during weather events
- Consistent attendance Mon - Fri
- Complete assigned line haul route in a timely manner
- Practice defensive driving principles and follow all company safety policies
- Comply with all laws and regulations relating to driving, transporting and handling of freight including those issued by but limited to The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), Department of Transportation (DOT)
- Comply with truck and cargo security requirements as outlined by the Transportation Safety Administration (TSA)
- Comply with safe work practices as required by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA)
- Comply with federal drug and alcohol regulations
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- at least 23 years of age
- Minimum of two (2) years commercial driving experience
- Clean DMV record (no serious moving violations in the past 5 years)
- Valid DOT Medical Examination Card
- Ability to successfully pass a drug screen and TSA background check
- Knowledge of DOT, FMSCA, federal, state, and local traffic laws and regulations
- Experience driving in adverse weather conditions, mountains, and chaining installation
- Ability to effectively communicate in English; verbally and in writing
Desired Qualifications
- Hazardous materials (HAZMAT) certification
