Job Summary
Complete assigned line haul routes in a timely manner, adhering to a 10-12 hour duration that requires consistent Monday through Friday attendance. Maintain accurate records including Electronic Logging Device (ELD), vehicle inspection reports, daily manifests, and incident reporting while practicing defensive driving principles. Comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations issued by the FMCSA, DOT, TSA, and OSHA, including federal drug and alcohol regulations. Join a local team of 15 serving as a final mile pick-up and delivery agent for international and domestic freight forwarders across the Greater Reno-Carson area.
Required Qualifications
- 2-year driving experience in Tractor with 53' dry van trailer
- Consistent attendance Mon - Fri
- Practice defensive driving principles and follow all company safety policies
- Comply with all laws and regulations relating to driving, transporting and handling of freight including those issued by but limited to The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), Department of Transportation (DOT)
- Comply with truck and cargo security requirements as outlined by the Transportation Safety Administration (TSA)
- Comply with safe work practices as required by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA)
- Comply with federal drug and alcohol regulations
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- At least 23 years of age
- Minimum of two (2) years commercial driving experience
- Clean DMV record (no serious moving violations in the past 5 years)
- Valid DOT Medical Examination Card
- Ability to successfully pass a drug screen and TSA background check
- Knowledge of DOT, FMSCA, federal, state, and local traffic laws and regulations
- Experience driving in adverse weather conditions, mountains, and chaining installation
- Ability to effectively communicate in English; verbally and in writing
Desired Qualifications
- Hazardous materials (HAZMAT) certification, preferred
