Job Summary
Troubleshoot lines and equipment while setting and removing poles, installing cross-arms, and placing electrical conductors on energized or de-energized lines. Perform maintenance duties for transformers and operate overhead electrical distribution, transmission, and substation equipment without direct supervision. Substitute as Foreman or Lead Lineman when active leaders are unavailable and train new crew members. Communicate with the general public and property owners while observing all safety rules. Requires 3 to less than 4 years of overhead line construction experience, proficiency in electrical terminology, a valid driver's license with a DOT card, and personal tools.
Required Qualifications
- 3 to less than 4 years in overhead line construction
- Proficiency in electrical terminology specific to line work
- Must supply personal tools
- Must hold a valid driver's license and DOT card
- Must maintain a safe driving record
- Must effectively communicate with management and subordinates
Additional Requirements
- Must perform all maintenance duties of a Groundman to a Class B Lineman
- Substitutes as Foreman/or Lead Lineman in the absence of the active Foreman and Lead Lineman upon approval of Superintendent
