Job Summary
Lead Support Driver role responsible for traveling to assigned locations to cover regular route drivers, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, safely operating tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles, ensuring load security and regulatory compliance, maintaining transportation documentation, and supporting maintenance and safety programs. The position may require short-term travel outside the region (up to ~2 weeks) with all travel expenses covered by the company, and includes opportunities for professional development and benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Manual transmission experience
- Ability to safely operate tractor-trailers, tankers, end dumps, straight trucks, or other assigned commercial vehicles
- Strong knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA regulations
- Ability to complete required paperwork and electronic logs accurately
- Excellent time management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Safety-minded with a strong attention to detail
- Must possess sufficient vision abilities to safely operate commercial vehicles and equipment
