Job Summary
Lead Support Driver travels regionally and occasionally interstate to cover vacation and sick time for regular route drivers, loading/hauling/delivering food waste with 15-25 stops per day, operating manual/automatic transmissions per DOT rules, using pallet jacks, and performing pre/post-trip inspections. Responsibilities include maintaining equipment cleanliness, using a pressure washer, maintaining paperwork and submitting documents, and reporting accidents. Requires Class A CDL and compliance with safety and regulatory requirements; role emphasizes travel, safety, and ability to work across regions with potential out-of-region assignments.
Required Qualifications
- Class A CDL license
- 2 years of tractor-trailer experience OR 1 year plus Truck Driving School/Military experience
- read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public and understand reports
- pre-employment drug screen
- pre-employment background check
- valid MVR and PSP
- minimum age 23 (or 21 with specific schooling/experience)
- stable work history
- DOT compliance
- ability to pass DOT logs and inspections
