Job Summary
Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and agency rules while detecting and eliminating safety hazards. Maintain accurate records and logs, and perform loading or unloading of freight as required by the customer. Drive a manual 48' to 53' dry van with lift gate on solo routes to Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. Deliver automotive parts freight using a day cab and sleeper tractor with electric pallet jack. Complete a road test and provide appropriate Class A CDL endorsements, including Hazmat at the time of interview. Schedule runs Tuesday through Saturday with 1-2 layovers per week, starting dispatch at 8:00 PM.
Required Qualifications
- Class A CDL
- Hazmat endorsement
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle
- 9 months experience within the past 3 years
- 2 years' experience within the last 5 years
- 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
- Route delivery experience
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
- Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
- Must be able to drive a manual
- Must pass a Ryder Drug Test
- Must pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
- Must pass a DOT physical
- Must pass a Ryder road test
- Must have 9-12 Months Hazmat Experience
- Must have 12 Months of CDL A experience driving
