Job Summary
Transport and deliver Jernigan Oil Company products professionally, safely, and legally while securing hoses and tools using approved methods like wrapped pallets and straps. Load and unload trailers, performing frequent lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying of products, propane bottles, and applicable tools. Complete necessary paperwork and maintain records required under State and Federal Laws and Regulations, ensuring all operations comply with DOT Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and company policies. Represent the company to customers and the public in a professional manner. Must hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with Hazmat, Tanker, and Air Brake endorsements, meet medical standards, and pass all drug and alcohol screenings. Work up to 14 hours daily in extreme temperatures, handling freight up to 800 lbs. Full-time role includes 401K with match, health benefits, and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of all applicable DOT Regulations and Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
- Must meet all medical and safety standards required by the DOT Regulations, as well as, any company guidelines & policies of Jernigan Oil Company, Inc.
- Must have a negative result on all drug & alcohol screening tests, pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, post-accident and random
- Must be able to load, unload, and secure all products using any company approved securing method
- Able to handle any special equipment required in the delivery of our products
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must have knowledge of specific electronics, such as a tablet
- Must Hold a valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A)
- Must hold a Hazmat Endorsement
- Must hold a Tanker Endorsement
- Must hold Air Brake Endorsement
- Must be able to remain alert while driving for periods of time, up to 14 hours
- Able to squat, crouch, and reach, as needed, to handle, secure and deliver our products
- Able to enter and exit the vehicle's cab numerous times each day
- Able to push freight weighing up to 800 lbs. on a dolly or cart and able to move product up to 80 lbs. with or without mechanical aid
- Able to frequently lift and carry product weighing from 1 to 80 lbs
- Able to connect and disconnect hoses
- Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, hot and cold
