Job Summary

Diagnose and repair operational difficulties with heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment, including vacuum, hydrovac, and wet vac trucks. Maintain and repair diesel, CNG, gas, and electrically operated vehicles while completing reports, work orders, and procuring parts. Plan and schedule repairs in M5 planner, coordinate mechanical write-ups, and ensure safe working conditions by utilizing power and hand tools. Maintain a clean work area and assist in training new employees. This 2nd or 3rd shift position (2pm-10:30pm or 10pm-6:30am) supports Environmental Services, excluding garbage trucks. Candidates must meet safety-sensitive function criteria and possess relevant diesel mechanic experience.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Technical diploma
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience as a diesel mechanic
  • Must be able to meet relevant criteria for safety sensitive functions according to Company standards
  • Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, climb, balance, taste, and smell
  • Continuous concentrated mental and visual attention
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Frequent physical effort including handling tools and equipment
  • Frequently lift/push/pull up to 100 pounds
  • Must be able to operate any vehicle or equipment necessary to perform job
  • Possess physical ability to perform all aspects of job
  • Must be computer literate, have the ability to be trained on software systems and the willingness to learn
  • Must be able to effectively use repair and parts manuals written in English
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others
  • Demonstrate ability to follow detailed instructions, work independently and maintain accurate records
  • Must be able to meet relevant criteria for safety sensitive functions according to Company standards
  • Must be available for 2nd or 3rd shift position (2pm-10:30pm or 10pm-6:30am)

Desired Qualifications

  • Technical diploma desired
  • Experience using diagnostic software a plus
  • Experience on Vacuum trucks, Hydrovac trucks, Wet Vac trucks a plus
