Job Summary
Operate heavy commercial trucks, tractor-trailers (including tankers) for collection services to transport and dispose of materials appropriately. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, provide required reports, and maintain DOT, OSHA, and company safety certifications. Wash, lubricate, and fuel vehicles while conducting preventive maintenance or reporting issues to the Driver Lead. Pick recyclable materials from incoming loads and perform site grounds maintenance such as litter picking, mowing, street sweeping, and dust control. Assist in landfill operations when qualified operators are absent. Maintain various records and logs per DOT Regulations and deliver outstanding customer service during all delivery and pickup operations.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Class A CDL
- DOT certification
- OSHA certification
- Ability to operate heavy commercial trucks, tractor-trailers (including tankers)
- Ability to perform required pre-trip & post trip inspections
- Ability to provide required reports
- Ability to provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations
- Ability to maintain and follow all required certifications and safety policies required by DOT, OSHA and company safety programs
- Ability to maintain various records and/or logs as needed per DOT Regulations
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance on vehicles
- Ability to inform Driver Lead of maintenance items needing scheduling
- Ability to wash, lubricate and fuel vehicles
- Ability to pick recyclable materials from incoming loads
- Ability to carry out site grounds maintenance including picking litter, mowing, weed whipping, street sweeping, plowing and dust control
- Ability to perform building and other stationary equipment maintenance
- Ability to assist in landfill operations
