Job Summary

Drive a tractor trailer to transport products from the warehouse to various customer locations, ensuring timely delivery according to assigned routes. Safely unload goods by hand or using hand carts down ramps, stairs, or docks, placing items in designated storage areas per customer specifications. Pick up and load damaged goods and customer returns, transporting them back to the SYGMA warehouse. Complete all required paperwork, including DOT logs, inspections, and maintenance reports, while maintaining strict food safety protocols and sanitary conditions in the vehicle. Communicate with the management team regarding route deviations or product issues, and develop strong relationships with customers through courteous service. Work assigned schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to meet customer demands.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED/equivalent degree
  • 1 year of tractor trailer driving experience
  • Completion of a tractor trailer driving school
  • Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
  • Must be insurable to operate a vehicle
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations
  • Knowledge of Hazmat guidelines
  • Knowledge of Safe lifting and delivery practices
  • Skill in driving over long distances

Desired Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED/equivalent degree, plus 1 year of tractor trailer driving experience preferred
  • Completion of a tractor trailer driving school will be accepted instead of, or in addition to a high school diploma
