Job Summary
Conduct daily deliveries, merchandising, and storage of Gulf Distributing Company products across assigned retail accounts while maintaining proper product rotation and front-facing displays. Operate company vehicles safely in compliance with DOT regulations, traffic laws, and liquor control standards, ensuring accurate load counts and timely collection of monies due. Manage unsold product and empties, complete required paperwork, and maintain current DOT logs. Inspect vehicles pre-shift, adhere to route sequences, and communicate account updates or delivery delays immediately to the Delivery Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Must report to work on time and clock in and out at appropriate times
- Must be able to lift 20 to 50 lbs per case
- Must be able to climb in and out of vehicle
- Must be able to properly use lifting techniques
- Must be able to operate a truck safely
- Must be able to handle money
- Must be able to handle unsold product
- Must be able to handle empties
- Must be able to maintain a current status of DOT required logs
- Must be able to obey all traffic laws
- Must be able to operate a company vehicle
- Must be able to park a truck
- Must be able to service and repair a truck as necessary
- Must be able to load empty pallets into a truck
- Must be able to maintain a positive working relationship with owners, managers, and employees
- Must be able to maintain open and clear communications with owners, managers, and employees
- Must be able to communicate new competitive activity to the Delivery Manager
- Must be able to communicate reasons for missed deliveries to the Delivery Manager or Salesperson
- Must be able to check with warehouse office personnel for additional assignments
- Must be able to rotate product within coolers, displays, and backroom
- Must be able to merchandise products according to company guidelines
- Must be able to build, merchandise, and sign displays as directed
- Must be able to use paper and permanent POS in proper manner and quantity
- Must be able to complete special attention items communicated by Salesperson(s) or Channel Manager
- Must be able to complete paperwork correctly and according to established procedures
- Must be able to collect monies due for product delivery and check them in
- Must be able to inspect a vehicle according to DOT regulations and adequate fluid levels
- Must be able to dress in uniform and maintain personal appearance in a professional manner
- Must be able to properly operate, protect from damage, and return all equipment
- Must be able to conduct activities within guidelines of company policies and procedures
- Must be able to conduct activities in accordance to local, state, and federal liquor control regulations
- Must be able to report traffic violations, on or off duty, that may affect CDL or insurability
- Must be able to report all accidents and injuries immediately
- Must be able to perform work activities in accordance to established safe work practices, policies, and procedures
- Must have a CDL
- Must be able to attend all Safety and Drivers Meetings
