Job Summary
Operate company-owned and leased trucks to facilitate shipping and receiving, delivering and picking up seed, sod, and soil products across regional interstate routes. Perform required user maintenance on vehicles and operate Material Handling Equipment like forklifts for loading and unloading at farms, retail facilities, and commercial properties. Maintain all DOT and OSHA certifications while providing customer service during all delivery and pickup operations. Work Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with potential Saturday shifts during the March through September harvesting season.
Required Qualifications
- Applicants must be at least 23 years of age
- 2+ years proven experience in commercial truck driving
- Clean driving record with no major or excessive violations within previous 3 years
- Must possess valid Class A CDL and Medical Card, including muti-state certification status
- Must pass background check and drug test
- Skilled at driving and parking large, heavy vehicles
- Alert, focused, and detail oriented
- Physically and mentally fit
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
- Possess great physical stamina and focus during long driving shifts
- Able to operate electric lift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.
- Proficient using GPS and other routing systems
- Map reading and route planning experience
- An innate sense of direction
- Self-starter who works well independently
- Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful
- High level of composure and good stress management
- High school diploma or GED
