Job Summary
Dedicated local Class A CDL driver for USPS routes in the Indianapolis area. Four USPS-focused routes with home-daily schedules, including Thursday–Sunday USPS (4:00–06:45 and 21:40–05:00), Monday–Friday USPS afternoon route, USPS mail shuttle, and a local power-only shuttle. Route stability with guaranteed base pay and opportunities to earn via additional local pickups. Requires CDL Class A, minimum 2 years driving experience, clean MVR/PSP, DOT and USPS background checks; must safely operate tractors, follow schedules, handle mail containers, perform pre/post inspections, and adhere to safety and DOT policies. Benefits include health/dental/vision, PTO, and cash in lieu of benefits.
Required Qualifications
- CDL Class A
- Minimum 2 years of recent driving experience
- Clean MVR PSP
- Ability to pass DOT requirements
- Ability to pass USPS Postal Background
- Strong communication customer service skills
- Ability to use mobile devices and accurately report accessorial charges
- Responsibilities: Safely operate Class A tractor on assigned routes
- Run assigned schedules on time, every shift
- Handle rolling mail containers (APCs/BMCs); strap when required
- Complete accurate delivery records communicate updates promptly
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections
- Follow DOT, USPS, and company safety policies
- Communicate immediately with Dispatch and the Post Office on any delay or issue
