Job Summary
Local P&D or City Driver role for Old Dominion focusing on safe, timely freight delivery between service centers and customer locations within the geographic area. Responsibilities include operating tractor-trailers in DOT-compliant manner, loading/unloading freight with pallet jacks or forklift, reading shipping labels and manifests, securing cargo, and maintaining accurate records. Requires 12 months of tractor-trailer experience, a valid Class A CDL with appropriate endorsements (including hazmat), clean MVR, and ability to pass drug and alcohol tests; adherence to medical standards and DOT regulations; proficiency with English and basic math; and willingness to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with physical demands and shift flexibility. Compensation and benefits information are included, with emphasis on safety, accuracy, and customer service while representing the OD family.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with double/triple trailers, tanker, and hazardous materials endorsements
- 12 months of tractor-trailer driving experience
- Acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR)
- Ability to read, write, speak English and perform basic math
- Ability to pass DOT medical standards and drug/alcohol testing
- Ability to load/unload freight and operate related equipment
- Ability to meet DOT hours of service and safety regulations
Desired Qualifications
