Job Summary
Safely operate a tack truck to apply asphalt emulsion and periodically drive a service truck to support field equipment. Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and daily vehicle inspections while maintaining accurate DOT compliance records. Assist paving crews with asphalt placement, raking, shoveling, and general labor tasks, including setting up work zones and traffic control devices. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of assigned vehicles and equipment. Follow company safety policies and project requirements while communicating effectively with supervisors and crew members. Requires a valid Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement and ability to perform strenuous physical labor in varying weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Tanker Endorsement
- Acceptable driving record
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices
- Ability to work effectively as part of a crew
- Strong work ethic and dependability
- Ability to perform strenuous physical labor in outdoor environments
- Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to walk on uneven terrain and stand for extended periods
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and perform repetitive tasks
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, dust, and noise
Desired Qualifications
- Previous asphalt paving, road construction, or heavy construction experience
- Experience operating tack trucks or service trucks
