Job Summary
Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles, including tractor trailers, tankers, and box trucks, transporting hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials while adhering to all local, state, and federal regulations. Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, maintain accurate digital logs, and complete required manifest paperwork. Assist with loading and unloading, secure loads properly, and communicate effectively with dispatch and clients. Participate in rotating on-call emergency response shifts and ongoing training programs. This role requires a valid Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements, the ability to lift 60 pounds, and proficiency in manual transmission vehicles. Based in San Leandro, CA, this onsite position offers a base pay range of $36–$40 USD.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
- Active Hazmat & Tanker endorsement
- Strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must have a reliable form of transportation
- Must be willing to consent to Motor Vehicle Record screening, criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen (inclusive of THC)
- Must be able to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis
- Must be able to report to designated office within 1 hour during Emergency Response rotating shifts
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship
- Proficiency in driving manual transmission vehicles is required
- Previous experience in environmental services or related field
