Job Summary
Old Dominion Freight Line is hiring for a Class A CDL Combo Driver/Dockworker in Mason City, IA. The role involves loading and unloading freight using a forklift or manually, delivering freight between service centers and customer locations, and operating tractor-trailer combinations within the service center's geographic area. Duties include reading and interpreting shipping labels, completing freight movement forms, securing freight, and maintaining safety and DOT compliance. Flexibility is required to cover third shift, evenings, weekends, and some holidays. Candidates should possess a valid CDL-A with hazmat/double/triple endorsements, MRT driving experience, English proficiency, and the ability to pass DOT medical and drug/alcohol tests.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with double/triple trailers, tanker, and hazardous material endorsements.
- Must have 12 months previous tractor-trailer driving experience and/or be a graduate of a State Certified, Licensed and Safety Department approved driving school, and/or have satisfactorily completed the Old Dominion Truck Driver Training program (ODTDT-8/88).
- Must have the ability to read, write, speak English and perform simple mathematical calculations.
- Must meet or exceed the medical standards of the U.S. Department of Transportation and satisfactorily pass a drug test and alcohol test (if applicable).
- Must be at least 22 years of age.
- Must be able to follow instructions via two-way radio or phone.
