Job Summary
Drive a Class A truck with a doubles endorsement to shuttle preloaded window and door units to various locations in Mechanicsburg, PA. Perform frequent lifting, pulling, and pushing of cargo weighing up to 100 pounds, and occasionally work in the warehouse and yard jockeying trailers. Maintain all required driver logs, mileage records, and compliance documents while adhering to Federal, State, and local regulations. Provide professional customer service by answering inquiries regarding packing lists and invoices, directing others to appropriate contacts when needed. Work an 8 to 12-hour third shift with weekends off, supported by a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, 401(k), profit sharing, and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License and doubles endorsement
- Acceptable accident and moving violation Motor Vehicle Record
- 2 years' previous tractor-trailer driving experience including winter driving experience
- Ability to read, write and perform simple mathematical calculations
- General mental ability to handle receipts, read maps, read road signs, maintain ELD logs
- Good oral communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions and take directions via on-board computer system and by phone
- Working knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems
- Knowledge of D.O.T. regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, vehicle inspection and maintenance
- Meet or exceed the medical standards of the U.S. Department of Transportation
- Satisfactorily pass a drug test
- Ability to shift manual transmission and operate foot pedals
- Ability to perform frequent squatting or crouching to handle position and secure windows and doors
- Ability to frequently push or pull of windows and doors weighing up to 100 pounds on a dolly or cart
- Ability to frequently carry windows and doors weighing up to 50 pounds of varying size and shape and occasionally carry windows and doors weighing up to 100 pounds
- Ability to frequently reach for cargo above shoulder level, at waist level and below waist level
- Ability to hook/unhook various commercial vehicle combinations
- Ability to manually lower and raise landing gear
- Ability to operate the fifth wheel lever
- Ability to lock and release pintle-hooks
- Ability to attach and release safety chains
- Ability to open and close cargo doors
- Ability to climb into and off of vehicles
- Ability to fuel vehicles and check engine oil coolant levels
- Must be able to lift 100 pounds
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds of varying size and shape
- Must be able to lift 100 pounds occasionally
- Must be able to reach for cargo above shoulder level
- Must be able to reach for cargo at waist level
- Must be able to reach for cargo below waist level
- Must be able to operate the truck in heavy traffic
- Must be able to operate the truck in inclement weather
- Must be able to operate the truck in tight loading dock areas
- Must be able to answer questions regarding packing lists, invoices, packaging and material content
- Must be able to work in the warehouse and yard jockey trailers on occasion
- Must be able to drive truck to destinations in accordance with Federal regulations
- Must be able to maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations
- Must be able to comply with all Federal, State, and local regulations for safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle
- Must be able to perform frequent lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying of windows and doors of varying weights
