Class 1 Truck Driver

Job Summary

Operate multiple configuration bulk trucks across British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan to deliver chemicals to customers, plants, and warehouses. Conduct daily pre and post-trip inspections, verify documentation including load sheets and bills of lading, and maintain accurate records for dangerous goods transport. Manage operational costs to improve profitability and assist in developing procedures that ensure safe product delivery. Complete all required training and certifications for the transportation of dangerous goods while adhering to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. Work 60 hours per week with no immigration sponsorship. Valid Class 1 license and 5+ years of oilfield or dangerous goods hauling experience required.

Required Qualifications

  • Reside in Leduc, AB or the surrounding area
  • Work 60 hours per week
  • High School diploma, GED
  • Valid Class 1 driver's license
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (5 years)
  • 5+ years of oilfield or dangerous goods hauling experience
  • Complete drug and alcohol testing
  • Be clean shaven to comply with customer site policy and safety requirement
  • Be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50lbs
  • Operate vehicle in a safe and environmentally responsible manner
  • Maintain accurate and complete records pertaining to the transportation of dangerous goods
  • Manage all aspects of operational costs
  • Conduct daily pre and post-trip inspections
  • Verify and confirm trucking documentation is completed in accordance with established company and regulatory requirements
  • Complete all training and maintain appropriate certification and licensing as required by law for the transportation of dangerous goods
  • Adhere to and maintain all applicable company, legal and regulatory requirements

Desired Qualifications

  • Certification in WHMIS, TDG, First Aid and H2S
  • Experience operating forklifts, drum dollies, trailer hoists, chemical pumps, hoses, meters, printers and gauge
  • Possess strong reading comprehension, writing and mathematical abilities
  • Possess a strong safety focus and demonstrated history of safe practices
  • Experience handling products in various types of packages including bulk and drums
  • Ability to back straight trucks, semi-trucks and trailers into narrow passages through expensive industrial equipment
  • Experience with transportation of bulk liquids
  • Knowledge of equipment, compliant with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and Transport Canada regulations governing the transportation of hazardous materials
