Job Summary
Operate lowbed truck and trailer hauling heavy equipment and machinery, including oversize and overweight loads throughout the Kootenays region. Plan routes and secure proper permitting for over-dimensional loads while safely loading, securing, and unloading equipment. Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure safety and compliance, maintaining accurate electronic logs using the ISAAC system. Keep equipment clean and in safe working condition across various weather conditions. This role offers flexible scheduling with overtime opportunities, consistent project-based work, and 24-hour dispatch support within Sutco Transportation's heavy haul division.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class 1 Driver's Licence
- Proven experience operating lowbed trailers
- Experience hauling oversize and overweight loads
- Strong understanding of provincial over-dimensional regulations and restrictions
- Ability to safely operate heavy equipment
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance
- Acceptable commercial driver's abstract
- Ability to pass pre-employment Drug & Alcohol Testing
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and physical environments
