Job Summary
Drive Class 1 tractor trailers to deliver and pick up perishable freight across Canada and the U.S., moving product between terminal locations in New Hamburg, Ontario, and other Canadian hubs. Perform pre-trip inspections, load and unload goods safely, and communicate with dispatch regarding pickups, deliveries, and inquiries while operating onboard telematic devices and electronic logs. Complete all required paperwork, attend safety meetings, and comply with Hours of Service regulations for all jurisdictions. Operate DZ units and bid for runs or work as an open board driver depending on seniority.
Required Qualifications
- Valid AZ/Class 1 license
- Minimum 1 year verifiable driving experience on AZ/Class 1 license
- Meet the licensing requirements for the specific job opening
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and health survey
- CVOR, Driver abstract and a copy of a drivers license
- Employment reference check
- Criminal record check
- Required to wear PPE (provided by The Erb Group)
- Some slip seating
- May be required to be gone overnight on occasion
- Will be required to operate DZ units
